Health & Safety on Soccer Island:

We have been diligently working behind the scenes to modify our curriculum and current operating procedures to ensure a safe return. You will see our coaches making adjustments to our regular routine to continue to keep safety our top priority. Additionally, all coaches will complete a mandatory health and safety course before returning to coaching.

During our sessions your coach will:

• Avoid high-fives, fist bumps and uneccesary physical contact
• Wear a face covering if our state and/or local jurisdiction requires or recommends doing so
• Use rings, spots or orange cones as “home base” to keep children spread out when possible
• Request that equipment be cleaned up and put away only by the coach
• Continue to remind children the importance of keeping safe distances when practicing skills, by mentioning to “keep space so you don’t bump into your friends”
• Avoid the use of pinnies
• Use a modified Soccer Shots cheer at the end of the session

Additionally, coaches will be sanitizing all equipment before and after each session and monitoring their temperatures daily. We will do our best to use smaller group sizes and/or larger field setups to allow for the distancing of participants and observers.

We require that families attending in-person sessions follow these guidelines for the health and safety of other families and coaches:

• Wash or sanitize hands before entering Soccer Island (we recommend singing the Soccer Shots song while doing so – ask your children if you need help with the words!)
• Adhere to state and/or local jurisdiction regarding face covering requirements.
• Practice social distancing by trying to stay 6 feet away from others that do not live in your household
• Stay home when you are sick and keep your children home from soccer if they are sick (we’ll miss them on Soccer Island, but we want them to be healthy!)
• If attending a Mini session (ages 2-3), only one family member per child is permitted on Soccer Island

Make-Up Classes & Cancellations:

• During winter, we will not use indoor spaces as a back up because of COVID-19 safety guidelines. We will schedule one rain make up date into our permits for each season and offer a make up date for inclement weather (rain, snow, or extreme hot or cold). If we have more than one inclement weather day, we will make every effort to offer additional value with longer sessions and/or digital sessions to provide the maximum enrichment resources possible per season.
• Regarding extreme temperatures, we will follow the 25/95 guidelines that childcare centers utilize for outdoor play. At the start of the first class, if it is warmer than a feels like temperature of 25 or cooler than a feels like of 95 we will run our session outside according to safety guidance for age, temperature, and exposure. We ask all families to dress their child appropriately to play outside for 30 minutes of running, jumping, kicking and laughing!
• During the winter season, if your school or center is closed on a Soccer Shots day due to snow or other weather-related issues, we will work with your school or center to reschedule up to two cancelled sessions or offer a make-up session at a different location and time.
• Make-up classes may be held on a different day or time than the regularly scheduled class. If a make-up is cancelled due to weather, it will not be rescheduled.
• Soccer Shots reserves the right to cancel any program due to insufficient enrollment. Upon cancellation, a full refund is offered.
